Atrius LMS

While working at Illuminate, I designed a custom Learning Management System (LMS) tailored for clients in the life science and medical industries. This LMS was one of several mini-sites developed to provide comprehensive training materials for vendors, ensuring they had the resources needed to effectively understand and utilize the products and services offered. The goal was to create an intuitive, user-friendly platform that facilitated learning and streamlined the onboarding process for new vendors.

Key Features
The LMS includes interactive modules, downloadable resources, assessments, and progress tracking to enhance the learning experience. Each mini-site was designed with the client’s branding and specific training needs in mind, ensuring a customized approach to education that aligns with industry standards.

Challenges
The project encountered several challenges, particularly during the implementation phase. Integrating the designed LMS into the live site proved to be complex, as there were technical limitations that impacted certain design elements. Additionally, clients frequently requested changes throughout the development process, leading to adjustments that affected timelines and required ongoing communication. Managing these shifts while maintaining the integrity of the design posed a significant challenge.

Lessons Learned
This project underscored the necessity of adapting to a more web-centric design approach. I learned to navigate the constraints of online platforms, understanding that some design ideas could not be fully realized within the technical parameters of the LMS. This experience highlighted the importance of flexibility and open communication with clients to manage expectations and foster collaboration. Ultimately, I gained valuable insights into designing for the web, allowing me to create more effective, adaptable solutions in future projects.
